CPRS National Conference

I’m excited to share that I will be presenting at the 2018 CPRS National Conference in beautiful Charlottetown, PEI! I’ve never visited PEI before, and am already excited to explore the city and surrounding area. The conference organizers have scheduled a host of events that sound fantastic – trips to the shore, a retro dance party… it’s going to be a great few days. And of course, I’m planning to fit in a visit to the Anne of Green Gables farm.

Conference Presentation

My presentation takes place on Monday, May 28th. I’ll be talking about social media use by healthcare professionals, and how the ubiquity of social media is leading to an increase in violations of patient confidentiality online.

I researched this topic extensively as part of my Master’s thesis and am really excited for this opportunity to share my findings and, even better, discuss them with PR pros from across the country. I’m eager to hear their thoughts on how we can support people to make good choices when using social media.

If you’re attending the conference, I look forward to meeting you!

CPRS Vancouver

In June I’m moving into the role of President for CPRS Vancouver, my local society. I’m heading to the national conference a day early to attend the President’s Council, which brings together the heads of all the local CPRS societies across Canada.

I joined CPRS Vancouver in 2017 as Vice-President, and can confidently say that my involvement with the CPRS Vancouver Board and volunteers has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my professional life. My fellow Board members are an incredible group of PR pros who are awesome at what they do, and invest their time and experience in making our society the best it can be. I’m eager to continue the good work of my dear friend and predecessor, the lovely and talented Emma Shea.
